PC TIPS
Do not click on pop-ups.
Do not install shareware programs (free
on-line download like Lime Wire, KaZaa, & iMech). This includes
music and entertainment software; these prove to have a lot of
viruses.
Do NOT buy any antivirus software
because most internet service providers include free antivirus. Call
your internet service provider.
DO NOT INSTALL MORE THAN ONE ANTIVIRUS PROGRAM.
Just because you have the software,
doesn’t mean you should install it. Installing software that you
never use will be sure to use up unnecessary resource and memory.
Make sure to install Service Pack II for
Microsoft Windows XP, this will update all o your security files for
the operating program.
Try not to have multiple PC users.
Absolutely
no adult film downloads; these too prove to have a lot of
viruses.
Try to have separate computers for
business and personal use.
Keep all of the software that came with
the computer or software that came in sets. Example (Restore,
Windows, Games, Programs).
Make sure to have no personal files in
the hard drive of the PC because it’s mixed with the operating
system files.
It is always best to have back-up files
of your business or personal files. Such as, USB EXTERNAL HARD
DRIVE, USB FLASH DRIVE, or DVD-RW & CD-RW.
Always shut down the computer in
Windows. Do not push the button on the front of the PC. Blow
out pc every six months. (Can Air)
